Your page and your Flash
Your page is what a client sees when they open your link: your cover, your name and location, your Flash, your reviews, your FAQ and the button to talk to your agent.
What is on your page
- Header: cover picture (optional), profile picture (optional), name, current location, completed projects, average rating and links to your social networks.
- Flash: your pieces in a mosaic that respects the shape of each picture, in pages of 12 (you swipe on a phone), with filters by tag. Each card shows its status, title, tags and “from” price, plus the Ask about this flash button, which opens the chat with that piece attached; tapping the card opens it full screen with all its details.
- Reviews: the ones your clients leave you when a project is finished.
- FAQ: they open one at a time; you write them from Home → Settings → Profile.
- Chat with <your name>: the button that opens the chat. It is always in view: as you scroll down the page, the one in the header fades out and a round chat button appears at the bottom right, always above your Flash (the header one comes back when you scroll up).
Your page has no Drop menu. On every plan it carries a discreet footer that says “Made with Drop”, with a link to drop.ink and another so other tattoo artists can create theirs.
Public or unlisted
- Public: it appears in the Drop directory and in search engines. In the directory, your card is the first piece of your Flash, in its shape (with no Flash, your profile picture), your name, your first style and your city; it changes on its own when you reorder your Flash.
- Unlisted: it only opens with the direct link. It does not appear in the directory or on Google. Useful if you only want to use Drop with people who already follow you.
You change it in Home → Settings → Profile → Visibility.
Your page's theme
Your page and its chat can be shown in light or dark. You choose it in Home → Settings → Profile → Your page's theme:
- Automatic (the default): each visitor sees it the way their phone or computer is set, light or dark.
- Light or Dark: everyone sees it that way, whatever mode they use.
When you save, your page changes in under a minute. The Chat with <your name> card has Drop's liquid metal border that moves, in both themes, on a computer.
Adding flashes to your Flash
Adding several at once comes with Trace and Ink; on Zero you add them one by one.
In the Flash tab, tap + (or the Add flash card on Home) and choose all the pictures you want to upload at once; you can also paste them or drag them from another app. At the top you will see a strip with them: tap one to fill in its details below, and tap it again to see it large. While you type, the pictures are already uploading. For each flash you can fill in:
- Title and tags (style, category).
- Price from: the fixed minimum for that piece, for example "from €150", in your profile's currency. It is the only thing Drop shows about prices.
- Estimated duration, in minutes: how long the session lasts when a client asks for it.
- Size and placement.
Tapping Add to Flash saves them all. If one of them cannot be saved (for example, if the connection drops), the others are already in your Flash and that one stays in the strip with a mark saying it failed: tap Add to Flash again to retry. With Remove this picture you take one out of the batch.
Each flash has a status: available, reserved or done. It moves on its own: it becomes reserved when the project that uses it is scheduled, done when that project is completed, and back to available if it is canceled. You can correct it by hand when you edit the flash. Only an available flash can be requested, so each flash is tattooed once; a job you already tattooed is a done flash.
Tap a flash to edit it: you can see its picture large, replace it with Change picture (the piece stays the same, so the chats and projects that already mention it start showing the new picture) and change its status. Press and hold a flash to choose Move to front or Delete.
What happens to your pictures
- They are compressed before uploading so they do not eat your data or your storage.
- The hidden data in the photo (such as the GPS location) is removed.
- On your page they are shown with a watermark with your handle, in the center of the picture and barely visible, to make theft harder without covering the piece; it looks the same on light and dark pictures. Your original is stored without the watermark and only you can see it.
Limits by plan
| Zero | Trace | Ink | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Pieces in your Flash | 15 | 100 | 250 |
| Storage | 500 MB | 3 GB | 10 GB |
When you reach your plan's limit of pieces, the app does not let you add more. You can see the storage you use in Home → Settings → Plan. If you fill it up, the app warns you and stops uploading your photos; what you delete from your Flash or your profile frees up space in a few days, when Drop removes the photos nothing uses anymore. The photos your clients send you always get through and do not count. If you move to a lower plan and have more pieces than it allows, you choose which stay visible when you confirm the change. The others are hidden and deleted after 30 days unless you upgrade again, except the ones a project uses, which stay hidden.
Changing your handle
From Home → Settings → Profile. While you type, below the field you see whether the handle is available or why not. The old link redirects to the new one for 90 days; update your Instagram bio and your QR codes as soon as you can.
Once the initial setup is finished, the handle can be changed at most once every 48 hours; if you try earlier, the app tells you when you will be able to. Changes you make during the setup do not count.
Frequently asked questions
Can I see my page the way a client sees it?
Yes: tap your name on Home and press See your page: it opens in the browser, exactly as a client sees it. On that same screen you have the QR code, your link (copied with one tap) and Share link.
Why do my pieces have a watermark and the photos clients send me do not?
The watermark protects your public work. The references a client sends are seen only by you and them.
Can I sell a flash directly from the page?
Not yet. A client can press Ask about this flash and the agent handles the booking like any other project.
